Dropbox Sync Filling Up Hard Drive Space

If Dropbox starts syncing your files locally to the computer and fills up your storage, revert the sync back to an "online-only" status to clear up your storage.

For Mac users: 

Open the Dropbox section on the left side of the finder, then right click on each folder and choose "Make Online Only". 

 

Note that this can take a few hours to clear up the storage on your laptop. 

 

For Windows users: 

Open the Dropbox section of the file explorer, then right click on each folder, hover over "Dropbox", then choose "Make Online Only".
