Transferring Personal Dropbox Files to OneDrive
How to download your private content from Dropbox and upload the files to OneDrive.
All employees have a personal Dropbox folder that contains files only visible to that user, or files that have been shared by the user outside of a team folder.
This folder can be located from the “All Files” view on Dropbox, with the folder containing only your name.
To transfer this content to OneDrive:
1. Click the checkbox next to all files/folders within your personal Dropbox folder that need to be transferred, then click “Download” at the top.
2. This will download as a .zip file.
For Mac users, double-click the file to unzip it.
For Windows users, right-click the zip file and choose “Extract All”.
3. Once the zip from Dropbox has been converted to a folder, navigate to OneDrive.
4. From the OneDrive website, you can upload these files/folders by dragging and dropping them from the finder/file explorer, or clicking “Add New” at the top left corner, then “Files Upload”.
Please note that any folders that are being transferred to OneDrive and were previously shared through Dropbox will need to be re-shared through OneDrive.
To do so, select the folder within OneDrive, then click "Share" at the top and enter the names of all required recipients.
